Painting In Thailand

January 26, 2011

My girlfriend Marisa and I recently returned from a five and a half week trip to Thailand. I haven’t really begun to try and put into words our experience.  I may try and do so once I start posting some photos, but for now, I’m sharing these two paintings I made while I was there.  I decided it would be fun to make some art while we were traveling, so  I went to a local store and got some acrylic paints, brushes, and heavy paper to paint on.  It was really great to work on these while being so visually inspired by the country. Both paintings are 9 3/4″ x 6 1/2″ and are framed in 13 1/8″ x 10 1/8″ black frames.  The subsequent layer framing the painting is handmade mulberry paper I purchased at HQ Paper Company in Chiang Mai.  There are a couple photos of each painting in it’s frame at the bottom of this post.  Each piece is $200 (plus $12 shipping & handling).  You can purchase these paintings in my “Available Paintings” section.  Let me know if you have any questions.  (Click on each image to enlarge)
